Centuries ago, fearless Nighthunters, weakened and near sleep, entered an abandoned castle and stumbled into a forgotten cellar filled with sealed, dust-covered bottles. On one of them glared the image of the most terrifying vampire they had ever seen. With no choice, they drank. Suddenly, an unknown power surged through their veins.

When they returned home, the others watched in awe as they danced for three weeks straight without sleep. The dark elixir had awakened a force within them unlike anything they had ever known. (Contemporary depiction)

Years later, other Nighthunters discovered an ancient stone plate engraved with a secret recipe. It listed powerful ingredients but gave no measures, leaving them to guess the right balance.
